Creating
your own personal custom floor design can be
very
exciting! With the easy-to-use flooring estimator,
planning for
your new custom floor is simple. On the reverse
of these
instructions, is the grid in which you can layout
your custom
DuraCeramic and DuraCeramic Options floor. The
solid lined
blocks in the diagram represent 16 inches which
allows you to
design using DuraCeramic or DuraCeramic Options
(full size).
The dotted lines represent 8 inches which allows
you to
design using DuraCeramic Options scored and separated.
All
you need is a pencil, calculator, measuring tape
and your
imagination. Follow the easy step-by-step instructions
below
to get started.
Creating A Layout Of Your Room
Pick a corner of your room as a starting point,
measure the length of the wall in inches:
________ Step 1 , Divide by 16:
________ Step 2.
The number you calculated in Step 2 represents
the number of 16 inch (solid line) blocks that
you will trace on the chart (see reverse),
representing your wall. Follow your room around,
plotting each wall using Steps 1 and 2 until
you reach your starting point.
Measure
cabinets, islands, or other fixed items and
trace into proper position on the chart.
You should have the general outline and positioning
of your room. Now you can begin to color in
the available blocks to design the floor
of your dreams!
For DuraCeramic Options, use
the dotted center lines to design your room
using 8 inch tiles. Use the example above
as reference. When complete, fill in the simple
calculation below to determine the proper amount
of materials.
Designing Using DuraCeramic Or DuraCeramic
Options (full tile)
Number of blocks representing 16 inch tiles
that you colored: ________ Line A
Divide Line A by 10 to determine carton quantity:
________ Line B
Now multiply Line B by 1.1 to factor in waste
from cutting tiles: ________ Line C
Line C represents the number of DuraCeramic
or DuraCeramic Options (full size) cartons
you will
need for your design.
Repeat this method for each color of DuraCeramic
tile you choose to design your room with.
Designing Using DuraCeramic
Options (8 inch tiles)
Number of blocks representing 8 inch tiles
that you colored: ________ Line D
Divide Line D by 4 to determine the number
of tiles you need: ________ Line E
Divide Line E by 10 to determine the number
of cartons you need: ________ Line F
Now multiply Line F by 1.1 to factor in waste
from cutting tiles: ________ Line F
Now multiply Line F by 1.1 to factor in waste
from cutting tiles: ________ Line G
Line G represents the number of DuraCeramic
Options cartons you will need for your design.
Add Line C and Line G to get the total number
of cartons to complete your project: ________
Line H
Calculating The Proper Amount Of DS100 DuraSet
Adhesive And DuraCeramic Premixed Grout
To determine the number of gallons of DS100
adhesive divide Line H by 14:
________Line
I
Using Grout?
Circle the number next to the grout width you
intend to use:
1/16” wide – 450
1/8” wide – 325
3/16” wide – 275
1/4” wide – 225
Enter the total number of tile cartons needed
from Line H: ________ Line J
Multiply Line J by 17: ________ Line K
Divide Line K by the number you just circled
when selecting grout joint width:
________ Line
L
Line L represents how many gallons of grout
you will need for your job.
That’s it! You have completed the tile
and grout estimation for your custom dream
floor!
